The force of water.

The golden light of the Orient.

The radiance of spices, enhanced by the addictive warmth of amber.

A classic of masculine perfumery, reinvented.

Today, the Far East meets the Middle East in Issey Miyakes first oriental fragrance, LEau dIssey pour Homme Noir Ambré.

LEau dIssey pour Homme: The power of spring water

When Issey Miyake launched LEau dIssey pour Homme in 1994, he was pioneering a new style of masculine fragrances. An innovative blend of force and freshness, inspired by the power of water, drawing on sophisticated techniques to create a feeling of effortless simplicity.

Invigorating as a mountain waterfall, LEau dIssey pour Homme splashes sparkling Yuzu into a heart of warm spices (Cinnamon, Coriander, Nutmeg). The scent comes to rest on a serenely masculine blend of Sandalwood and Vetiver.

LEau dIssey pour Homme Noir Ambré: Turning water into light

In 2016, Issey Miyake reinvents LEau dIssey pour Homme with a new, woody oriental signature.

Infused with a warm, addictive blend of Amber and Vanilla, the iconic scent undergoes a mysterious alchemical transformation.

From one natural element to another.

Turning water into light.

In matching Japanese aesthetics with Oriental intensity, the challenge was to preserve the originals naturality and signature structure: a fine-tuned balance of citrus, spices and woods.

For the perfumer Christophe Raynaud, the key was a very special variety of Saffron with a leather facet, discovered in Morocco. Inspired by the contrast between the spices leather note and its golden glow, the scent unfolds in three movements:

Light: The radiance and refinement of Saffron, magnified by Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Coriander.

Sophistication: A vibrant accord of Leather and elegant black woods rich Atlas Cedar Wood, smoky Haitian Vetiver and earthy Papyrus.

Addiction: the smooth texture of Amber, the comfort and intensity of black Vanilla, the warmth of Tonka Bean.

Radiant. Intense. As elemental as a force of Nature, as sophisticated as Issey Miyakes precision-built designs.

The bottle: a study in black and light

The new, arrestingly elegant bottle revisits the iconic lines of LEau dIssey pour Hommes design.

Like gold-infused water, a tall, streamlined block of light filters through the amber-tinted glass of the bottle. The matte black cap conjures leather and woods.

This bold design is presented in a precious, architectural box contrasting metallic gold and satiny black.

The campaign: Nature, between dreams and reality

A striking visual campaign translates the subtle alchemy of LEau dIssey pour Homme Noir Ambré.

In a dreamlike cascade that goes both up and down, water turns into light.  A mysterious amber and black monolith, the bottle emerges from black rock as though the force of the waterfall had extracted it.

Nature, transfigured by the hand and mind of man Turning water into light.
