Years ago, my dude Kamza introduced me to Wombles. It was a hidden part of Parkhurst, they had to let you in at the gate and then it felt like you were in someone’s yard before they welcomed you in.
Wombles has had a rich history as an amazing steakhouse and I was really excited when I saw that they were moving to Hobart Grove which isn’t far from me.
I dined there last night with my lovely friend. Homely as always, from the welcome, ambience, warm hostess(owner) and incredible service.
Over two bottles of Neil Ellis 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon, we enjoyed; the escargot, trio carpaccio(first time tasting crocodile) the kudu main as well as the fillet on the bone.
All amazing, all worth every cent. Reservations are tough, so don’t be cool and just pitch up.
